THIS IS A VIDEO OF ME SINGING IN THE SHOWER
, 2020

THIS IS A VIDEO OF ME SINGING IN THE SHOWER, is a video of me singing in the shower. The work uses karaoke-inspired text as a way of exploring my thoughts and feelings in the moment about what it means to perform an idea of oneself. Initially, this work was made using a one-day-project framework that I use to give myself the opportunity to make things that are messy, in an effort to continue making. After filming, I watched and re-watched the video while writing down my thoughts about it. These thoughts quickly ended up being a self-conscious reflection turned self-reflexive statement on the way I perform myself.
