Brendan O’Callaghan is a multidisciplinary artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Media Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts and has gained a Diploma in Video Production from the Toronto Film School. His post-secondary studies inspired a fascination for creating short films of the psychological horror genre. Brendan utilized oil paintings to explore suspense themes, culminating in highly saturated colours blended to create unexpected cloud scenes in a backdrop of nature. He uses multiple-layer paint techniques to create hyper realistic cloud/landscape oil paintings to construct a sense of uncertainty, unease, mystery, and tension.
