01 - Exhibition Statement
Living in Digital_ GLITCHED, contains two collections of wearables informed and inspired by computer technology. These pieces are partially designed by computer systems and physically produced by the artist. GLITCH is designed by recreating corrupted design files. Living in Digital is created by using AI images which are then taken by the artist and collaged into a digital pattern, printed, and sewn into a wearable art piece. By using computer technology in the design process, the wearable pieces reflect the way the self is divided between the online and offline of our current reality. It explores the separation of self across different internet platforms. The fragmentation in the panels of fabric physically show the way the digital space divides the self. Living in Digital_ GLITCHED was created over a year and explores a new direction for the artist.
